Rockford – Robert J. Wallin, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Provena Cor Mariae. Born March 4, 1927 in Bell Center, Wi. to Joseph and Emma (Kelley) Wallin. He married Sue (Anderson) Wallin on June 3, 1979. Bob worked as a building engineer for Rockford Board of Education until his retirement. He was a member of the Svithoid Club where he would visit for a game of bingo, cook a herring breakfast or create a pot of his famous potato soup. Bob loved to fish, and play cards especially with his children and grandchildren, rummy was the game of choice. He was a caring man who would offer help to anyone.
Survived by children, Viola Burpo, Robin, Rodney (Dianne), Reggie (Gail) Wallin, daughter in law, Linda Wallin, and Deb (Brian) Peterson, Lori (Jason) Bolen, and Len (Harmonie) Cowart; brother, Paul (Pat) Wallin; sisters Hazel Haile, Maxine Powers, Margie Haile, and Marlene (Sonny) Seidel; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, wife Sue, son Randy, son-in-law Gary, brother-in-law George.
