Rockford- Leonard "Len" Appelquist, 84, died Satuurday, April 14, 2012. Born May 13, 1927 in Rockford to Axel and Ellen (Fransson, Sanders) Appelquist. He married Joanne R. Johnson on August 14, 1953. Len was employed by National Lock for 37 years and Saws International, before retiring in 1992. He sang in the church choir and was a member of Swedish Historical Society.

Survived by son, Randall; daughter Julie; sister, Dixie (Glenn) Carlson; brother, Richard; several nieces and nephews; and special companion, Jordis Downey. Predeceased by parents; wife, Joanne; sister, Elvera Shippy and Jane Flood; and brother, Harold.
