Machesney Park – Robert “Bob” W. Mackey, 83, “PaPa” was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Born February 19, 1929 in Freeport, IL.to Emory and Ruby (Meyers) Mackey Bob served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean war. He worked as a store manager for Piggly Wiggly and Eagle Foods. He married Jean Hanford in November 1953. Bob was an usher when they opened the Metro Centre in 1981 up until 2010. He was also a member of the Land of Lincoln Theater Organ Society. Bob LOVED to patronize all local sports teams. He appreciated all the fine entertainment he was privileged to witness in his many years at the Metro Centre and Coronado.

Survived by son, Tom, and daughter; Ann (Jim) Lanigan; grandchildren, Lindsay (Ben) Hofman, David Mackey and Hope Lanigan; two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents; wife, Jean; son, Robert; sisters Shirley (Vernon) Brinkmayer, and Mary Loomis; grandchild Caitlin.
