Hugh S. Boyle

Hugh S. Boyle, 66, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012. Born on December 1, 1945 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the son of Hugh and Hazel (Schultz) Boyle; married Kathleen Brunt in 1971. He was a 30-year employee of the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2007, and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a die hard Packer, Brewer and Badger fan who also enjoyed cooking, especially his famous corned beef cabbage. He was a member of the American Legion on Broadway where he enjoyed the company of his fellow legionnaires.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, Matthew (Tsugako) Boyle and Patrick (Shantel) Boyle; daughter, Megan (Jim) Gade; three grandchildren, Ian, Shawn and Wyatt; and his animal companions, Molly and Muffy. Predeceased by his parents and sister, Mary Fortner.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 with a visitation from 11:00 until service time in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
