Loves Park - Luella "Lou" Smithey, 61, of Loves Park, IL passed away on Friday, May 17, 2012. Although from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Luella lived all her life in the Rockford area. She married in August, 1968 and raised two children. She worked in manufacturing most of her life but most recently was employed by Popeye's Restaurant in Loves Park. She always enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is predeceased by both parents, but survived by her two children, Daniel (Cora) Smithey of Dongola, IL and Deanna (Greg) Osborn of Machesney Park, IL; her seven brothers, John (Carol) Vyborny of Machesney Park, Lyle Vyborny of Rockford, Larry (Marie) Vyborny of Machesney Park, Roger Vyborny of Rockford, Vernon (Lyn) Vyborny of Machesney Park, Donald Vyborny and David Vyborny of Rockford; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Pat Edwards.
