Machesney Park - Hazel "Rusty" Barrett, 67, loving husband, father, "my grandpa" brother and friend.

Rusty died Saturday, June 2, 2012 . Born January 31, 1945 in Hamlet, North Carolina to Will and Mary (Melton) Barrett. Rusty was a carpenter by trade, he loved his family and friends and they affectionately referred to him as "Daddy Rabbit". Rusty loved the challenge of a good game of horseshoes or pool, he found great pleasure working in his flower and vegetable garden. Rusty loved to kick up his feet and dance to country music, he was a real prankster. Grandpa called his grandson Kyler his "main man" together they both would enjoy "fresh air". Rusty was regarded as a people person, loved by all.

Survived by wife of 46 years Darlene; daughter, Jona "Jody" (Tim) Barrett - Hyde; grandson, Kyler; one brother and three sisters and many special relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents; four brothers and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
