Rockford - Edward "Eddie" Leo Laliberte, 77, of Rockford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 with his family by his side. Born February 14, 1935 in New York City, New York, the son of Medor and Regina Laliberte. He married Marcia "Lee" Bronson on June 8, 1957, and they started their family in Rockford. He attended West High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country. Eddie worked at A T & T and retired after 30 years of employment. He struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for 24 years. Early on he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. As his MS progressed, he enjoyed working at his desk on his computer.
He is survived by his wife, Lee; daughter, Shelley Johnson; sons, John, Mark and Ricky; grandchildren, Jessica (John) Keller, Danny (Crystal) Smith and Taylor Johnson; sister-in-law, Lou Peterson; brother-in-law, Jeff (Mona) Bronson; and six great-grandchildren; niece, Penny (King) Richardson and nephew, Steve King. Predeceased by his parents and two nieces, Toni Lee King and Lauren Bronson.
